Some twonk in a van going too fast down a narrow country road smacked my os door mirror sending the glass through my open window on to my lap. Casing is scuffed but otherwise OK, just a new mirror glass needed. Mine are heated so I've discovered (dhse) so ordered a new heated one off ebay (£18), that came sharpish and with the roundy squarey thing that apparently breaks easily included too, didn't come with the two plastic straps, anti vibration I believe, that fit to the back of the glass and fit into two slots in the casing so have to use the old ones, they just clip into the mirror glass. Then spent way to long trying to figure out how to refit the glass so went to Google. A thread came up from landyzone saying to fit the roundy squarey thing to the casing then hook the mirror glass to that. Tried that for way to long again with no success, I would say it's impossible. Did another Google and a video came up from powerful uk(got my walnut auto gear knob and led boot light off them) showing to fit the roundy squarey thing to the back of the mirror glass first then clip the mirror over the corresponding round bit in the casing, took about 30 secs to fit.
Jeez, they get pretty hot don't they!, roll on frosty mornings! Think I'll buy another one for the ns now.
Working AC, working hrw, heated windscreen and heated mirrors and seats should see early winter start ups a lot more pleasant, although I don't use the heated seats.
Only issue I had was the mirror terminals were smaller so I had to solder on some suitable ones to the existing mirror loom, no biggy for me but a pita if you haven't got the gear to hand I guess.
