i have a 99 diesel model which seems quite noisey when being driven at speed..
everything seem fine ,brakes steering etc but there is a lot of noise/vibration from the rear end...
if i put it into neutral at speed the noise is still there..
any ideas ??

Hi, i know this is no help, but could be th vcu, its the same as mine, but i changed my tyres to AT, and it has helped alot, it doesnt judder anymore tuning tight corners. But i was told by a garage that, it was stuck in difflock.

It must have some form of 4wd? cant just rely on sodding traction control can it, smart ass

Its summit to do with the VCU, thats the problem i had on mine, still have a bit, and many people on here have pointed to the vcu, the problem with mine was the 2 back wheels were locked i rekkon and that why i was getting the juddering round tight corners.

Someone more useful and helpful will help you.

More useful than you I hope. and yes it does just rely on traction control VCU just transfers drive to both axles. dosn't have owt to do with the diffs.

its not the vcu if the steering isnt effected and the noise exists in neatrul. However ian i suspect yours was.

Yes, it seems odd that when put in neutral the noise is practicaly the same, could this indicate tyres or maybe bearings ?????
