Hello all,

As my '03 TD4 is due a service, I have decided to attempt this myself rather than pay the eye watering prices charged by local garages.

I know I will have to change the oil and filter, air filter and spark plugs, but can anyone give me some advice as to what else will need to be changed / inspected, and what would be the best oil to use? The last service was a year / 10,000 miles ago.

It has been some time since I attempted this on a car myself, so any advice is very welcome.

Thanks,

Craig.

Don't try it.
Something in your post tells me you aint capable.
If I can change a window regulator then I can do a 10K service!

The only reason I haven't tried this before, is that I wanted to keep the service book fully stamped. Now that I will be keeping the car forever it isn't as cost effective as doing it myself.

A good starting point would be the concept of diesel ignition, then take your service from there. Perhaps seek some help in locating those spark plugs!
