Hi, This should not be difficult but I appear to be stumped!

The required socket to undo the fixing bolts is 6mm but I cant get any of my 6mm sockets into the aperture to undoo the bolts, am I being thick or just missing something?

Anybody else had this issue?

Thanks in advance.

What year is the FL?

I thought the pollen filters were under the dash (passenger side) and held in place by several plastic star head scrivets.

I have done away with my pollen filter since 2001, airflow to the windscreen is much better.

Plus when you look at the filter, you could spit through it, I have my doubts as to the efficiency of large mesh trapping microscopic pollen grains, Im sure it works for the first while, doubtful whether it lasts from one year to the next.

if you dont suffer from hay fever, I wouldnt bother replacing it. They are £25 plus VAT

Correct under the passenger side dash, Haynes manual shows standars screws holding the cover on but mine are bolts. Will try and find a 6mm box spanner that should be thin walled to clear the inset.

Why are things to difficult!

Thanks

on my craplander they are a phillips screw head but you need the little stumpy screw driver to undo it.

I have the same and I had, before I put it in my benchvice, a small Phillips screwdriver, which became, after I took it out, to be one with a 90° folded handle which fits perfectly underneath the filter holder.:D :D :D :D

Out-engineered by the Belgians again LOL. Hows that trolley board doing Willo, have you designed Mk II yet? ;)
Here Sam, have you got a junior socket set?
