i want to fit the fold down rear seats out of a discovery td5 the forward facing ones into the back of a discovery 300tdi is it possible and if so how?

I bought a full set for a Td5 by mistake! They are totally diffrent!

I am not saying that it is impossable just that to do it would be a massive job and require you to have a lot of parts from the donor car.

Are you wanting them to be spring loaded so they can be folded up? Or are they to be perminantly locked in the down postition?

Also whats the crack with the rest of the car? How many doors? Is the second bench fitted? Is it a commercial?

I guess your looking at carrying children in them and thus the side ones "shouldnt be used"!

If it is for a situation where the children have been adopted or in care then forget it totally as if it is not OEM factory standard you have no chance of getting aproval. Also dito with the above comment for insurance.

I have made commercial vans 7 seaters using the seats and fittings from a car which is ok for the insurance as long as you tell them and DVLA and it passes the MOT. But the rear seats are the dickey side seats.

Just putting forward facing seats in my defender http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f7/fitting-rear-forward-facing-seats-90-a-81970.html You may find theses easier to fit in an empty discovery, just make a frame the same size as the wheel arch!

The main problem is that even if you fabricated them to fit, if the 2nd bench seats are fitted there is no room to fit seats forward facing unless you dont give them leg space!!!

Try sitting in the boot forward facing and you will see what I mean!
