Been to look at a Defender 90 what should i look out for

hi guys

yeah i know, going to the dark side or maybe seen the light.
been to look at a defender 90 pick up
( missus is moaning about me getting the p38 dirty around the farm and broke a widscreen using shotgun from drivers seat):doh:

is there anything i should be on the look out for

it is on a C reg
2.5na no PAS

needs a starter motor
and some welding at the back on the chassis near the rear cross member
needs some welding as rust below windscreen
Beleive i can buys those bits from famous four for £14 a side

how bad a job is it to to remove the rear tub for welding?

how hard is it to fit PAS?

( can rob some bits off the father in laws classic in the barn, possibly 200tdi engine swap in the future

what sort of price with no MOT or tax, got a winch fitted and a n alloy canopy

Take the shotgun along with you when you go to look at cars. It's a big help when negotiating.

what sort of price with no MOT or tax

£500-1000? Sounds like a bit of a shed, but then there's no Defender that can't be fixed up with a welder, an eBay account, and a little time.

ha ha, it was out of the passenger side window, but from the drivers seat, reckon the pressure from the blast turned a chip into a crack> bet that wont use that example on the autoglass ads<<!!!!!!

re bit of a shed, probably so but only want it for shoting and popping around the farm, filling up pheasant fgeeders and carrying my toolbox etc.

Price is in that bracket< if he had took 500 i would own it already.

hopefully going for another look on tues

If you're shooting a shotgun from inside a vehicle the only Defender you need are for your ears! :mil44:

tell me about it. Had to have the shot though, cheeky bugger was taking the **** thinking i couldn't get him

yeah ear defenders work, reckon that is why the missus is keen for me to get a defender so i will be stood up in the pickup and she will be warm in the cab....!!

clearly she hasnt sussed that it comes with lots less stuff than her P38 like a heater..!!

off to look tomorrow again, but am taking the trailer and cash so could be i will own it in 24hrs

Now if i had a gun like his .....!!

the wheat would be intact and the freezer full.

Now what sort of licence would i need for that and how could i mount it on a defender..?

you will know if i get it, be lots of post on here like how does this bit come off etc.

Is there a downloadable manual for a defender 1984 ish like the RAVE for the P38 and disco> tried google but lots of hits re computer virus
