but you would still take any of the above over a britpart equivalent

Maybe but you really don't know. A few years ago the aircraft industry went paranoid about counterfeit goods. An Indian airforce Canberra bomber out on a test flight after a major service left the runway on landing killing the pilot and navigator. The brakes had failed in a big way. On investigation it was found that the Lockheed brake pads taken from official stores and in genuine boxes were made from compressed cow dung. That is a true story and can be checked up on. There are so many third world countries with grey factories, making counterfeit goods, you just do not know what proportion of your stock is genuine and what is not these days. Even if it has a strong brand name. Fact of life i am afraid.

well it was from stu form his unipart man so I doubt it was fake , more than likely it had several sub brands and a unipart spray job.

Probably made at the britpart factory ffs, same colour

Oil filter, fuel filter and air filter came from unipart when I did my last service a couple of months ago, so did the previous filters, had no probs ! Elgin depot is still Partco, 2 big blue and white signs.
Cheers
