An update on servicing the 2.25 petrol pressure control valve PCV. The rubber diaphragms are easily sourced for MG/triumph, they are made in Britain and appear good quality. To check the valve you can blow down the the top and check for sealing...

and the one thing you havent taken into account is the gear box, known to disintegrate on a whim, changing the diff will put more stress on it when pulling away
