Personally i would say they are one and the same, you get the same or come to the same conclusion, clearly No 4 injector needs to be changed then go from there, do another leak back test or get it on the code reader and check the injectors that...
Sorry @Arctic2 - forgive my ignorance- so does it matter whether a “leak off” or “leak back” test was done? Just concerned as to whether this affects the interpretation of the results.
Clearly either way injector 4 is (the most) dodgy given the...
Here’s what I did to mine in case this helps you I hope. Sticky butyl with the hexagon pattern. 2.5mm. Off eBay from a vehicle company. Can’t remember the price but it was acceptable. I put it on the footwells, gearbox tunnel, under and in the...
1=25ml Only just outside acceptable
2=12.5ml inside acceptable.
3=20ml acceptable
4=35ml outside acceptable so this is the suspect.
If the test was done properly over a 2min period anything within the 20ml is acceptable
Maybe take Freddie17 up...
Ah. I've discovered that "leak off" and "leak back" tests are different things... I did ask for a leak back test but clearly this was lost in translation because they've performed a "leak off' test according to the invoice. I guess this would...
Thanks to all who replied.
Ali, I thought for the relatively small amount extra for the full regulator over the repair kit it was worth it. Obviously, in my case I'd have to go motor hunting now. Every day’s a learning day…👍🏻
Thanks for this. I will ask what the duration of the test was. The notes provided said "Cylinder 4 excessive leak, cylinder 1 & 2 low return of fuel. Advice would be to remove all injectors for testing". So he's saying the low amount in No 2 is...
Never been able to find an actual figure with the seal and brake disc on, everyone I read is different. I even asked Britannica Restorations what figure he suggested for it and he said dunno as he's only ever done it on a vice without the disc...
Both radiators air con and coolant got replaced under my ownership so there brand new.
Shimming the rockers is something I am trying to wrap my head around , I don't understand how you check the hydraulic lifter clearance or how big of a shim...

As we own a version of a C3 we took this very seriously, but the Japanese company, Takata, that makes the faulty airbags has them fitted in loads of makes and models...
Hopefully you have the coolant leak sorted but if still loosing a little, they also commonly loose coolant at the water pump so look out for leaks there.
Started reassembling Slooby's former Rangie. Just cannot get the FIP adjustment right. Swapped for the FIP on my scrapper thinking maybe the Woodroffe key was worn but same sh1t. Get it bang on, rotate 360 and the b*st*rd has moved. I think maybe...
Honestly, same goal over here, more for green-laning than "off roading" the freelander would not handle it, but if you're up to the task chuck in the same engine, you could probably get an early pre-2001 engine for cheaper, I've got a guide on...
