I would be upset if water was getting into the gearbox and would quickly find out how, as that would mean oil would be leaking out ☹️

Stick a plastic Hawk on the roof. We had Herons nicking fish out of our pond, so stuck a plastic one next to it and they don't come down if there's competition. Crows might see Hawks as competition. Alternatively, do what Aussies do to stop...

Its a Uk import (2002), the v8 sticker looks really cruddy, as if its been there a lot of years. Frame is fantastic, fully galvanized, think its been changed.

Good idea, i did move the radiator with the earth lead just before it started acting up. Dunno much about the box or motor, all parts look pretty factory to me. Havent had any major bits apart yet, but i guess its coming.

Put a jump lead earth direct to the starter. Try that. Some times the solinoid does not fully engage & give full load . These can be stripped down or replaced. Starter motor. Are you using a series box with an adapter plate? Are you...

Ill try running an extra positive cable directly to the starter in the w-e. I had a mouse living in the garage last winter. Didnt know they had copper on the menue. )
  • M
Maybe, but have cleaned batterypoles, earth to chassiconnection. Cleaned connection solenoid to starter etc.

Hi Nodge, You kindly helped me a couple of times when I first acquired the FL2, so I glady accept your esteemed advice and thoughts ;). Unfortunately I am now at the age where I can no longer do what I used to be able to do in respect of...

Do your research on the Ingenium 2 litre diesel before buying any small LR product. Google or youtube, loads of info out there.

Wishing I had left well enough alone now FL2 Power steering pump gone noisy after fluid change, no time to change it before road trip so have to cross fingers and hope it'll be ok, Sounds like a bearing but I'll know better when I check it over...

On a FL1 I had one with a pin hole in the breather pipe. When the fuel went up the filler pipe (when it was filled to cut off), it also went a small way up the breather. Just enough to find the hole. The hole, had been made by the self tapping...

Could you have a faulty earth then? As on the bench both cables would be directly on the starter.
  • GrumpyGel
BTW, do you see any fuel around the filler? Some of the vehicles we have at work have a drain from around the filler area. When the AdBlue spills (its filler in under the same cover as the diesel), it drains out under the vehicle. Wondering if...

From a safety and elf perspective, wear some cushioning protective layer on your forehead. Cos when the diesel drops down into your eyes, your head will flinch up and hit the underbody. Alternatively, wear eye protection as that will have the...

After nearly five years of faithfull service it appears it might be time to part with my 2006 FL2. At 165,000 miles she still performs and drives well, I really can not fault the old girl, she has been a pleasure to own and drive but she is...

To add , strangely nuff, it actually runs, when its pulled out from the motor. But I have no way of putting load on it. Mounted just one click and 1/4 turn..

Belive the previous owner reconded it, since it has new connection bolts . Found a cross conversion chart but its hard to know if they would fit.
