2016 405, autobiography has an ever increasing intermittent electrical fault. Initially once a week or so for 2-3 mins, now every time I drive it. Main control screen switches off, aircon fans stop working and only warning messages that come on...

I use a latching solenoid (LINK) on mine with a switch on the dash rather than a remote. It is hidden in plain sight with all the other identical toggle switches. I also have a fused bypass link which keeps the radio programmed etc, but as soon...

Due to upgrading to its bigger brother I'm selling my Bambu Labs A1 3d printer with the AMSLite. £220 collected from Sutton Coldfield, it can be shown working. It's just over a year old and has worked flawlessly for me during that time. It comes...

    Yes.

Yeah, I replaced the top one and it didn't do anything so it's probably the lower ring. It's leaking very badly now to the point it's leaving very large puddles where I regularly park it.

Do you mean a straight line from the exhaust manifold flange to the mid muffler flange?
  • norseman
Just a thought .. AC isn't efficient in a car unless the window are kept closed, so are you going to benefit from it in a rag-top LR ?
  • UnitLandy
Thank you, Mark. That's reassuring advice. Does the fip removal tool fit the tensioner pivot sleeve exactly or will the sprocket be loose after fip removal? I was going to make grooves between the fip caps to align them exactly. Hopefully this...
  • Mark Piercy
Just to note, any difference in the position of the upper caps on the fip when replaced. If not exactly where you found it, it'll either not run and or idle very low or idle very fast, like very fast!! 😬
  • Mark Piercy
The only reference you really need is the fip body relationship to the casing it's bolts too. Logic says as you have noted it should all be in place on the engine side. The only thing that can move is the fip drive shaft. Don't forget as the...

Plant pots is ideal for weeds to grow. Only way to deal with them is to pull them out when they appear. (In my opinion of course, I ain't Percy Thrower).

I got one for my 1998 4.0 from BM Catalysts. Make sure you check the length measured flange to flange in a straight line, because some suppliers they are about 20mm shorter...

So I have been told that now I have pulled the handbrake emergency release wire I have to have the whole module replaced. This seems rather dramatic. Is this the case?
  • L
Also when you get it running on brake cleaner, does it die after you’ve stopping providing it or does it start with the brake cleaner and run as normal off the fuel in the tank?
  • D
Daffin replied to the thread Td5 discovery auto 1999 no start.
Yeah there’s plenty of fuel in it, got nearly half a tank
  • L
might be a daft question, but you have enough fuel right? Mine wouldn’t start when very low on fuel, just as the light turns on but I chucked 10 litre in and bled it then it started first crank.

I was going to do them all and just get it over with. I guarantee If I did the quick job it would come back to bit my backside anyway. Oh, right. If you Mark everything off and nothing moves why do they need to be re-timed?

Sounds like a plan, either small file and file a tiny flat middle of needle or you can use Brasso to remove tiny amounts off till you get an improvement, could be lean at top end though and rich lower down, that would give black plugs if you're...

As long as the tool stays in place you can take the pump in and out with no issues. You'll have to time it up afterwards anyway.

Disco 2's have traction control... The centre diff in the LT230 likes to destroy itself if it spins too fast/long :( If my Disco 1 wasn't such a ****box, I'd get Ashcroft ATBs front, centre and rear: Then it'd be like a proper AWD on the road...

Are you doing the top cap seals, upper and lower caps? They can be done with the pump on the engine if you haven't gone to far dismantling the pump. The injector head can also be done in situ. These three are the most popular seal fail issues...
