I hate electrics.. had another look and there is nothing earthed to the radiator panel.. it is ex army could they have done things differently do you think?!
Handy to know, getting the oil filter off my 2.5 petrol last month was quite the chore.
I initially went at it with a G clamp as I'd done before on previous cars but it wasn't budging. So off to euros to get one of those three claw filter...
Have a look at Sumo Bars

Ive got a pair of these fitted on my P38, they do what they are surposed to while looking very pretty. But i mainly got them for the ability to...
Thanks, so it's OK for the the two half shafts to be different types?
The half shaft has definitely been worked on as the bearing locknuts had been removed/tightened using a chisel, I am assuming that's not how LR did it.
I am on with cleaning...
Agree with the above, the chassis looks to be in reasonable condition but it needs a good wash and wax coating inside and out to keep it that way.
I am also going to assume from the shiny black paintwork and AC grill that can be seen that the...
Don’t just paint with the likes of hammerite, it won’t last. The best bet is as above, shot blasted, zinc coated and then painted. The steps are exposed to salt and muck from the road so need doing properly.
Have you checked the fuel pressure yet?
Fuel pressure regulator is a fairly common fault.
The low pressure system pressure is approx. 1.5 bar to 5 bar and return end < 0.6 bar. The pressure in the high

So I just got the IRD oil checked. Drain plug had some sludge on it, but no pieces or slivers. After refilling I drove a few km to feel it. It felt smoother and I had less judder in the acceleration. I was driving without the sump guard and I...
One more question: Can I check the mileage from a separate instrument cluster by connecting it to a 12V power source? I have several instrument clusters and I don't know the mileage of all of them.
Thanks very much for the reply . I shall give this a go , I am ordering an original glass & standard seal kits .
If this doesn’t work I shall then try to find a larger external seal . “Should know the mm Required this way “
Any help is...
Hi folks, I appreciate this may be a bit contentious but I am selling a deceased friends 101 and would list it in the for sale section but I don't have the required 50 posts. This isn't supposed to be a for sale thread, more a heads up if anyone...
There were a number of changes made in 1980 by Land Rover, mostly I think to simplify production and part of their going metric program [ Ha ha, even later coilers still have many imperial fittings]
The castle nut shaft is from pre 1980. It is...
I don't want to sound patronising here and may have missed something in your write up, but in your pictures you have taken showing the glass is still loose you have not fitted the expansion strip into the seal. Until this expansion strip is...
