It looks like the crank seal but to be sure I would do an inspection behind the belt to see if anything is leaking higher up. The belt seems to have had its day :)
Just seen driveway squirrel. Fink it was him. Climbed me fence and looked at me int kitchen while facing the direction ov me drive. Me friendly squirrel normally faces tother way. Nuts have gone. Bin replaced just now.

I've had the ECU tested in the meantime and its not that. FP relay is clicking. Reset the inertia switch ( pressed the button) for what its worth. Car was 100 percent when I parked it and then it didn't want to start.
you can swap the hand of the alternator by simply undoing the three or four very long screws pulling them out rotating the ends of the alternator in relation to each other refitting the screws and tightening them up

Today i stripped the front end near side ,in preparation for new ball joints ,after 25 years not one bolt had a decent head on it but got it in the end just needed a bigger hammer :rolleyes:....
New starter fitted. As expected, it didn’t go without issue as it is a landy! One of the turbo studs sheared, needing drilling and tapping. The mechanic said a few choice words, which I won’t repeat! And a couple of extra earths were added. But...
