Have you ever seen a rat gnaw its own leg off to get free from a trap, Typical Towney response

Thanks Arctic. The fuel filter was changed at the last service (28/02/2025) and used the correct filter. Based on other service items used by the garage (such as the air filter) I'd hazard a guess that it is a MANN filter, although I can check...

NGK. I've never had trouble with them. Dad used to have a marine shop and used many, many thousands. Had one faulty one, ever. I run NGK in my VWs and the Disco 1 (actually, everything, in honesty 🤣 ) High RPM misfire can be a worn cam too, if...

Probably the thermostat stuck part open - that's the more usual way for them to fail, so warmup take ages, if at all...

Start up from cold and see how long it takes the radiator to warm through. It'll get hot at the quickly as normal but if it starts blowing warm air from behind the fan quickly it could be an open thermostat. Watch your fingers😜 run for about...

The car came with a set of Champions in, and a new set of 8x N9YC Champions plus a new set of 8x BPR8ES. I did a plug change to the new champions (no difference to the misfire at high revs / under load) and yesterday changed to the NGKs. It...

My viscous pulls through the rad from the engine side, so the twin fans I have at the front blow air through to assist. What little air flow I get at max revs, whilst doing 10 kmph through a massive donga (oooooh, errrrrr missus) is going the...

Great point. Mine is basic...no ac , no fan coupling. So I have air flow through also you are very correct only need in slow traffic on hot days or very long steep hills. Thankyou for reply.

One at the back, maybe stuck inside the rear window? The other on the front. I'd be more worried about someone driving a newish Discovery without dual controls!!!

I put an electric fan on the back of the rad after removing the viscous one. Only had to switch it on twice, both times in 30 degs or more and slow moving traffic. But I have a feeling that the air-con fans take a lot of the strain in the heat...

Well here's weird. Having set the pump running from a separate cable, summat else has gone wonky. Before, the room stat would control the heating, as per normal, but now it's as if the boiler is no longer getting a signal, so I had to go and turn...

Your best bet is to get it on a diagnostic tool and see what live data is saying, can you tell us when the fuel filter was last changed, was it at the last service you had above? if so was the correct fuel filter fitted, ie 1 2
