Would You Use A Britpart Clutch?

I'm doing an engine swap on my 110 soonish and was thinking about doing the clutch at the same time. I already have a brand new ****part 200tdi clutch in my parts store but I know the clutch on the disco motor was okay as I've run the disco for the last year and had the box out to replace the clutch fork as it failed last June.

What would you guys do?
 
your old disco clutch is bound to have wear on the diaphragm fingers even if clutch is still good ,id fit a new borg and beck or other good make
 
With the reputation of britpart do you want to change the clutch again when it breaks. Get a new decent one ( Borg and beck) and forget all about it and concentrate on everything else that needs fixing
 
Apparently Britpart clutches are generally ok. Have heard some reports of rattly springs in the friction disc though.

But... for the sake of doing the job properly first time around... fit an AP Driveline (used to be called Borg & Beck) clutch kit and forget about it. :)
 
****part cant even make a series washer jet that is capable of hitting the cab roof never mind the windscreen

so a clutch is well out of the question ..........prolly make em out of chocolate !!
 
Ive been running a britpart hd clutch for he last 12000kms over the last 15 months and all is well, personally i would but then you might not, for the extra few quid if you get peace of mind then go for the other brands
 
Dare I say it I fitted a Genuine part last year ( A Genuine Britpart that is)
I wish I hadn't now I've read the above posts.
In all seriousness though Its been fine, its a heavy duty one and I welded the fork so that it didn't give any issues.
Yes it had noisy springs when engaged at idle but not now it's worn in.
Done about 12k on it no problems(touch wood)

Can't say the same about the fuel sender unit though!!!!!
 
I think Grimmer sums it up.....***part have gained a reputation for a good reason ( whether all is true or not ) and replacing a clutch should hopefully be a once only job and is it really worth taking a chance with ? ( You'll be hearing and reacting to every little noise etc if you fit it - lol )

When I go into Liverpool LR I always ask that I'm not supplied with a ***part unless they actually recommend it.

I never had a problem with a britpart clutch, other britpart stuff yes

I fitted them to my last 3 land rovers without a problem
 
i dont want to give my money to ****part full stop.

i have wasted enough money driving back and forth to craddocks etc replacing there crap/pattern/i dont give a chuff about the consumer/bollocks for years and so now i dont want to support there horrible little company.

So i dont care if there genuine or OE, id rather fit something from a different company. As soon as i open something to find its in a blue box 9/10 times it goes back.
