I know nothing about Disco's except they're big and rusty (often) and cost lots to keep right. I do have a mate who knows a bit about Discos but thought I'd ask here too.
So what do you guys think? Worth having a look?

You are about spot on with your knowledge, I've had plenty now and will continue to have more. Big, rusty, expensive and addictive. Dead good fun though and comfy and easy to fix and lovely and frustrating and infuriating and not gay.

I'd say get it, and the one you are looking at makes a lovely noise too whilst it's turning your hard earned money into oil spots and sound pollution.

Just do it! That's a good looking disco. Prefer the D1 to the D2.
Check the boot floor, sills, read arches, inner wings for rot. They can all be replaced though.
Check the engine for head gasket, slipped liners etc

It's a good looking car from the advert and the owner seems to have thought about what might interest people/ put them off before writing it ( eg sunroof, boot floor both get mentions). - definitely worth a look, particularly if there is some haggle room on the price, but take your mate along and ask him to increase your medication if you get too excited!

As long as you take your mate along, why not
As to calling it a Jeep FFS.

May be a bit of dialect as when I looked at the link it showed a 'non-runner' Freelander which was also called a Jeep and also in Newry. Wonder if there is any other connection?
Unfortunately in these parts anything 4wd is a Jeep, in the same way any vacuum cleaner is a Hoover.
The good thing is it really p1sses of the Trattors. :p

I don't really have time to use it properly and it would never be a daily driver but I would love to start doing some off road stuff. I also fancy having a V8 but don't fancy the cost of feeding the beast.
Anyone know what sort of MPG I could expect from a V8 with those wheels?

Sorry, was that MPG or GPM? :D
Mmmmm, That was what worried me. I don't want to have a car I'm scared of using because of the cost per mile. At current prices
£1.03................ 20mpg ................ 23ppm
£1.03................ 15mpg................. 31ppm
£1.03................ 10mpg................. 47ppm

The fact I'm even thinking about it and checking means I probably should look elsewhere. :(

you going to be looking at the 35-45 ppm mark, get a cheapo gas kit on it and it drops to more like 20 ppm, just a simple one will do for a play thing.
