Won't start !

Can anybody help ? One of my kids was messing about in the cab and pressing the accelarater pedal when the engine was off. Now it won't start. Is it like my old rover 416 that don't like the accelarater being messed with as it floods it. Being a petrol all you had to do is clean the plugs but with a derv i don't have a clue. Please Help

ye can't flood a derv like that

how long are you turning it over for ? - is there any sign of it trying to start?

you might just be best off bleeding it, least then you'll know if any fuel is reaching the pump

Can you offer any ideas, it was running about 2 hours before and i can't think of anything else that has been touched on it. it's just had a new alternator and i charged the battery as it was flat, any offers how you bleed the pump, is it like bleeding brakes

Yer battery needs a charging

Check that you get a live feed to the stop solenoid on the inj pump when ign on

undo the union just before it goes into the IP and turn it over should see some fuel coming out if not change yer fuel filter or do the same thing before the fuel filter

then undo yer bleed nipple on the IP and give the lift pump a few "lifts" untill you see fuel coming out of the nipple

does it normally start ok ?

Normally starts first time everytime !

thats posh fer ya, an immobiser in a TD - you'll be telling us it's gorra heater next
