wont rev now im stuck

hi there my disco 1 300tdi wont rev up. if you hold the revs you can hear the engine pick up and die off and under load it struggles to pull away 5mph max with loads of white smoke. but every now and it will rev up im so confused.

not sure where to start any help would be great

But you can check

Injector seals
Egr valve falt
Worn crankshaft
Timing
Head gasket
Water and oil mixing look for a mayonnaise like substance
Intercooler blocked
Nakerd turbo hoses

As all can cause this

Could be a fuel delivery problem:

1. Clean out the fuel sedimenter;

2. Renew the fuel filter;

3. Check the fuel lift pump for proper operation.

manual, a turbo hose did split on me yesterday and caused a similar problem, it was the 90 degree pipe from turbo to intercooler, i replaced with a good condition pipe, i thought it was more fuel due to the huge amount of smoke but as i said im not sure thats why im asking for ideas, cheers
