Hi lads,

Electrics aren't my cup of tea... Fine bodging up an exhaust and cooling system etc for my 3.5 EFI V8 conversion but feel in the dark about the lectrics.

Haven't removed the lump from the disco yet, but once it's in the series how do i begin to get it to go?

I know there all sorts of stupid sensors and stuff and that the ECU has to be connected to various things. But the engine comes out with it's own loom/harness right?

Guess what I'm asking for is reassurance of how easy it is! I've been led to believe one need only worry about about 4 wires out of the spaghetti.

Cheers lads ;)

Stick carbs on it, it will be alot more simple to fit, a new inlet manifold is cheap enough

and your drop from 150hp or so to 138 and worsen the fuel economy, also I can't remember but unless the series has a return line your need to fit one

I've thought about putting carbs on as I have a set, but I want the best economy I can get out of it. I know it would be much simpler and more in keeping with a series motor but EFI seems more sensible - more power and lower fuel usage!

I've seen wiring diagrams before but they don't really help! And they don't tell you what you need to keep to get it running as simply as possible, without all the unnecessary electrickery.

If you want fuel economy dont fit a v8 :p but if you can get it to work it will be good, make sure you make a thread on it. I know a few people have fitted 3.5 Efi to mgb's so have a look through an mg forum to see how they have done it. might help
