Hi
Got an odd one with wipers on my 90. Intermittent works OK and so does the first on position (one up from off), but if I push the lever to two up from the off position (which I assume means I should get double speed wipe for torrential rain) then the wiper slowly drags itself half way then stops.
As soon as I go back to one up from off it is fine. Oh there is also a sort of metallic type clunk with each sweep when they wipe whatever position - do I need to dismember and grease?
Clearly not terminal but it does suggest something wrong. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

Malcy

take your dash apart and have a look at your wiper motor whilst it is working. sounds like its mechanical not electrical. failing that, take the top of your dash off and have a peek at the linkages, make sure thier all present and correct.

if it wur the relay it would do it in all positions not just the fastest,
not being anywur near the thing i'd say it could be a bad conection inside the motor.
they have really weak springy things that make contact with a moving part that can become worn causing intermitent contact. then again it could just be a bad linkage that dunt like going fast.or someother things but i think a relay is the least likely

I've had exactly the same problem with mine and it turned out to be the contacts and terminals an the wiper motor electrcal connector thingie take it apart clean it and it'll work brilliantly..................well, as well as it's likely to. The wiper motor isn't powerfull enough to pull the wiper blades over a dry windscreen on its fastest setting.
