Windscreen wipers stopped working

My wipers stopped working the other day, typically when it was absolutely lashing down!!
Got to work, checked fuse, that was fine. Tried them again, no movement but could hear the motor going.
So, removed wiper mechanism/motor and found that the two linkage arms had come off the motor arm

Popped them back on but they kept on coming off, so, I got one of these clips

I know they are only supposed to be a temporary fix but works a treat

Just thought I'd let you know incase it happens to anyone else (I'm sure it has!!)

When I got a new wiper motor I fitted these as well that was over a year ago and they are still going.

I replaced the arms on my last Freelander but they only lasted about a year. In the end I did my own fix along the lines of those clips... quite solid even if I do say so myself

Thank you for posting this timster66, huge help for me. Mine went the other day at worst possible time on motorway in the middle of a downpour, bit of a brown trouser moment!
Got these clips off ebay here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/x2-NICKE...SSAT-WIPER-MOTOR-REPAIR-CLIP-KIT/162545623504
I ended up needing 3 though, ends wouldn't stay on once I put clip on the middle. Got another in halfords, not as strong and 8 quid (ouch!) but got the job done.
If you drive a freelander and this hasn't happened to you yet - buy some and keep them in your car!
