Hi my 2004 freelander 1 Sport wipers stop just under halfway down the screen.

I have tried to adjust them but if anything it seems to make them worse!!

Anyone know the procedure to adjust them or is it a part that needs replacing?

Thanks

If they were ok and now aren't then it's not adjustment. Are they working correctly and simply parking in the wrong place? Or are they not working at all? More information needed ;)

Hi they have been like it since I bought it 2 weeks ago.

They are working ok just not sitting at the bottom of the screen when you turn them off.

the self park is either playing up or you need to take them of and put them on right there is a little cross mark where the wiper blades should be leavel with when parked at the bottom of the screen

Thanks I will have a look for that cross tomorrow and give it a bash nut I am not sure its gonna wotk tbh. I did try all sorts of positions earlier and couldn't get them any lower, They seem to jump down about 2 inches when first starting them so if I set them right on the bottom edge of the screen they go down on to the plastic plenum and then up to wipe the screen.

Most modern cars are fickle.

I had a BMW 5 series, a Skoda Octavia & a Skoda Yeti. Every now and then something strange would happen.

Turn ignition off, and generally restart straight away and all was fine.

Hmmmmmmm not so actually they have gone mental again!!!!

Hi
Mine used to do that,When the screen was wet they were ok as the screen dried a bit they used to stop were they liked.
Cured problem a new motor from Island 4x4 good price and those spring clips to take up any play in linkage it only takes about half hour to fit now everything works ok and is very quiet.

Any chance you can give me a quick breakdown of how to do it?

:)

Hi
All you have to do is lift up the plastic covers on the wiper arms remove the nut then remove your wiper arms which can be very tight spray them with wd 40 and using a wide flat blade screwdriver to ease them off. Then take the plastic rivets on the plastic grill out using a self tapping screw a couple of turns in the centre then pull them out with pliers be careful as you don't want to break them if they do break you can find them on e-bay.
Take the drivers side out first as the grill might be in two halve as mine was this exposes the wiper motor and linkage then just three bolts and the wiring plug take out the unit and remove the motor. If you get a couple of those spring clips which you can find on e-bay they are good as it takes out the play in the ball joint and is worthwhile

Thanks I gave it a shot tonight to have a play with the linkage but no joy so it's a new motor I think. Seen one on eBay new for £45 is that a decent price?
