This should be a simple one i hope.

300Tdi '97 - changed the drivers door window regulator as the old one had eaten itself. All changed fine but . . new problem - the window support bracket(/rubber liner) was heavily corroded so will not hold the window tightly enough now. When i lower the window the regulator just comes down without the window - not much good really. Have tried squeezing it together to tighten grip but no good, bracket just too weak.

Need to get a new window support (and maybe the rubber whilst i am there), what is the official name for this part as i cant see any reference to it. Any suggestions on best place to get one?

Thanks in advance.

I had a look on microcat but can't identify the part from your description. Can you post a photo of it.
As for suppliers, if I was you, I would start with a breaker or if you really want new the I would try Paddocks, Craddocks, MM, Rimmer or any other of the the usual suspects

I believe it's called window chanel...

Happened the same to my rear window last week, my solution for now was just put loads and loads of silicone inside the channel, then more outside adn smooth it down... its strong enough to hold the window.

what you looking for is this:

Window Channel Front Range Rover Disco *NEW* MUC2322 on eBay, also, Range Rover, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 06-Jul-09 16:15:00 BST)

this one is for the front window, which has the long channel (where the window goes) and the 2 smaller channels (where the arms from the motor mechanism go)

But... see the price? about £25?
I ended up buying 4 complete doors, same colour as mine, for £20 each.
always good to have spares in the garage....hehehe

I just did my passenger side one, I got it from a local LR specalist that also sells parts. I think he got if from LR direct, I have looked at Paddocks and they only do the complete regulator and not the channel. It cost me about £15+VAT I think

I was also recomended to use Silacone to hold it is as there is no chance you would be able to get the window in place with the rubber, one of those manufacturing proceses that can't be repeated!

There was also 3 different parts to chooe from, one bolts on the other 2 are complete with the channels for the sliding barings, then you have the round and the square bearings!

Make sure you get the correct one, you will need your VIN for this.
