I'm probably going to get attacked for asking this as I'll bet you have all had your share of winch questions but Im going to chance it anyway.
Ive been onto google, searched the forums etc but its just confused the life out of me.
Basically I had been using the superwinch x9 that came fitted to the land rover. Its the updated version with the simpler beefy 3 cogs rather than the timed cogs and it worked like a horse but it was due a clean and a paint.
Although I haven't used it in 2 months due to doing other work. I had decided I wanted to either refurb it or get something else. Long story short ended up bagging an extremely tidy 8274 for 400 quid so went for it as its the first sensibly priced, tidy, fully working one at sensible money that Ive seen in a while and I really wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
Was telling my brother I wanted to remove the x9 today. He was at my house whilst I was out and decided he would be 'helpful and remove it all for me...but it was a mass of wiring that I never touched and now its in a heap on the driveway.
I wanted to check it was all working but now I haven't got the slightest clue what goes where?
I've stuck jump leads onto battery but trying to decipher online what goes where is a nightmare as Im finding completely different views, advice. Ive been playing about here but I don't want to melt anything.
The superwinch online instructions....I cant make sense of at all. Ive never touched the wiring at all. The solenoid pack was located inside passenger wing, with a positive wire attached to shiny nut on the pack. That's all I know.
Could anybody have a look at these pics and tell me what on earth goes where?
Even if I could test the motor directly or something just to check it.
