i have the full size allisport intercooler fitted in the front of my 110. just thinking of ordering a winch bumper but does anyone know if i can just get the air-con kind or does it need to be specially extended like the shadow ones come in??

no i dont have air-con but just thinking of room

Iv got an allisport intercooler on my 90...got a normal fit shadow winch bumper...just had to cut a bit extra out of the grille for the winch...other than that it fits finem let me know if u want a pic

try John Belmonte' at Home he makes them for terrafirma and a lot of other makes, he sells them identical to brand names but he can't call them the brand names but they are a lot cheaper than listed price and they do an aircon version. I paid £250 cash for my 'terrafirma' tubular winch bumper.

ELECTRIC WINCH 12V RECOVERY 4x4 12500 lb WINCHMAX BRAND on eBay (end time 03-Apr-10 22:27:04 BST)

looking at this in a tubular bumper, what do you think?
seems cheap but is there a reason?? other than the name
buy cheap buy twice..

albrite type solenoids...so obviously not albrite
made on the same production line as superwinch, but obviously not superwinch..

send em a qs and ask if the internals are all superwinch parts..
cheap imported winch imho

im sure for the occassional winch it will be fine, beyond that who knows

ya pays ya money takes yr chance..buy cheap buy twice etc etc

sound advice. ill drop them an e-mail. do you know of anyone selling a winch at the mo? im thinking anything above 9000lbs, what with it being a big old truck, that sound about right?

i think thats similar to the one i have on the rear of my 90
tmaxx outback series 9000llb winch

i went for it as the price was good and the rear winch on mine wont get used no where near as much as the front.
i will be swapping the wire to plasma rope asap..
one bit of advice to prolong the life of yr winch no matter what make you go for is to use a snatch block at every oppurtunity..

i have a warn winch on the front which granted cost stoopid money but has been faultless and gets used a hell of a lot in the winch/punch challenges.

yeah im really into snatch blocks and all the 2/3 ways pulls etc. at the mo. been reading about it all and it looks ace. nothing seems to add up in the world of physics and yet it seems to work. like how to pull with twice the force and not exert twice the strain on the cable. crazy. so the t-max are ok and 9000lb would be enough for my 110 as long as i keep it as easy as possible at every op??

should be fine, there ok and prob one of the better "budget" winchs if thats what you wanna call them..
if you could stretch to a 12000llb winch i would sugest that as yrs is a 110 and considerably heavier than a 90.

how ****sed off would ya be if ya got the 9000llb one and then found it didnt perform how ya wanted and ya had to sell it at a loss and then get the 12000llb version

yeah very good point. i have a 4500lb champion winch here sat doing nothing that needs selling aswell but im seriously considering trying to find a way to mount it in the load area so i can use it for work or just as an 'in case' situation, but cant seem to find a way to mount it. dont really want to splash out on a rear winch bumper just for that little thing. i have got a spare winch adaptor tray thing that goes on the bumper, if i grind off the lip on the bottom, is there anywhere under the load area that i could get it bolted to the chassis?

a 4500llb winch on the rear is better than no winch atall;)

can i attatch it somehow?even if i bolt a small sheet of steel down and then the winch to that. but is the chassis directly under the load area? easy to fix down to?

or how i did mine..

Fitted with 100m of UHMWPE 11mm (similar to Plasma) synthetic rope?? as good as plasma?? its with this one ELECTRIC WINCH 12500lb 12V SYNTHETIC ROPE WINCHMAX on eBay (end time 08-Apr-10 21:35:29 BST) and im really thinking about it. i know what you said about getting what you pay for but i wont be using it for challenges, etc, so it should last a few years atleast shouldnt it? if i take care of it obviously

go for it..thats a good complete package there..
look after it and im sure it will be fine.plasma rope is atleast £140,its prob not as good as a marlow rope, but for what your gonna be doin it will serve ya well..
