Will def 90 grille/lights surrounds fit pre defender models.

Sorry if this is the wrong place, I’m new to this...

If I bought a pre defender 90 would I be able to put a modern grille and light surrounds/lights on it as I think they look so much better. Also, would alloys not fit drum brakes which I believe they had?

Understanding you're describing to buy a Defender Ninety [pre-90], yes they will fit. Subject to wheel type, alloys will fit over drums - make sure you don't oversize the alloys and :. tyres. You don't want to over stress the the stub axles.

yes I’m looking at the v8 ones from the mid to late 80s before it was renamed the defender. I’m sure they look the same but grille adverts are always described as fitting defenders so was just wondering if I’d be able to give it a bit of a more modern look.

I'm the wrong person to ask as not a fan of oversized wheels on Landies but there are plenty of others who are running 18". It would help if you confirm the wheel type...

Thanks anyway good to know that it’s possible to do. I like the 16 or 18” sawtooth style alloys.
