my 1996 lwb Frontera has deveolped a noise coming from underneath the
vehicle. It sounds like a tinny knocking noise as if something is hitting on
something.
Everything seems ok visually and it only happens when driving and
accellorating, any ideas ?....
Thanks Rob....

That'll be the service engineer, they're always losing them at Vauxhall.
:) That's why they have to charge so much for a service.

Most likely something exhaut related - catalytic converter heat shield
beginning to rust away, perhaps?

Could be the baffles in the exhaust box corroded away. Very
common with Frontera exhausts. A new one from a non-chain
exhaust shop should be pretty cheap. I think I paid about 40
quid last time.

£40, you doubled the vehicle value in one go then.

Odds on its exhaust bracket(s).

Thanks for all the suggestions , turns out it was the centre prop shaft
pinging due to a knackered universal joint...
