I've fitted my Defender 90 with new suspension, radius correction arms and rear trailing arms, the suspension has given the car a 2" lift although it feels like more when I'm climbing in and out! I've had a noise which I originally thought was coming from the gearbox however a friend of mine seems to think that its vibration coming from the front prop shaft, I only notice it above 40mph in 4th and 5th gear though. he suggested I fit a wide angle propshaft which he says would benefit my car especially with raised suspension, do I need to do this and will it actually make a lot of difference? Has anyone else done this modification and what have they found? Cheers.

did you really need castor correction as it makes angle worse, wide angle prop will stop it binding but not improve vibration you need double cardon joint for that

Did i read right elsewere that Discos ran Doubles on their front Props ????? If so would it be a straight swap ???

Thanks James, the mechanic that did the work for me said I needed castor correction I went with his advice and hopefully his experience, to be honst I'd never even heard of a wide angle prop before until it was mentioned to me by a friend, I'm no expert I just love off roading them, unfortunately I always seem to fix one problem and cause another!

wide angle has as said on the tin the ability to move to a wide angle without catching on itself ,it wont alter the vibration occuring at too large an angle ,2 inch lift shouldnt really need castor correction ,its noticeable in the loss of self centering after cornering,if it still self corrects no need to fit castor correction arms, double cardan joints can be used to a wider angle before vibration

whereabouts are ya?

i may be breaking my bobtail rr and that has gwyn lewis wide yoke props on it
