Hi guys
last 2 mornings my eas has flashed in the normal driving mode with bottom light staying on for about a mile then it stops flashing and just displays the normal _____ light
I stopped during the problem put it in n and put handbreak on, it went up, I turned off, got out and the car went down (not leaking i heard valves,
then when i got back in it flashed again, went down the road and after a mile it was ok, felt hard for a while but didn't seem hard enough to be on stops,
cant hear any leaks and it stays up at night, and there is no 35mph warning,

now,, is the car supposed to go down when a door is opened? does it have to be running to do this? and should it go back up as soon as door is closed? does it need to be in p or n or have handbreak on?

it's been ok since i changed a bag till now,,, a few little fart abouts but mainly ok, it does not seem to like me putting it up and down but i do it sometimes to keep it all working!
is it ok to drive on the road in high or is it for just off roading? I like it high!
if i buy the software off datatek can I change the ride height to what I like?
thanks guys

Richie
p.s check out my latest video on www.youtube.com/amazingfeet !!:)

When you open door and get out, then shut the door, the suspension self levels after your weight is removed from it. Your compressor is maybe not giving good air or the diaphragm maybe leaking. You can't drive it on the road in high. As soon as you reach 35mph it will drop to standard height. You can if you like rolling over on roundabouts.

i thought that it might be crap pump but it goes up and down ok,
so when i open the door it should not go down to aid people getting in? do you have to select it if you want someone to get in that needs it low?

I just had a thought, it's got 2 wheels on the kerb over night so its trying to level all the time so perhaps that's not helping, but it's been parked like that other times and been ok!

strange

thanks

I have found if it has lowered to around access height when parked up, at times, the access light is on (as the EAS thinks it is as access height) but should be at standard so the standard light flashes (the set height) and the Access height is steady (the current height).

If it is taking that long to rise, it could be a leak in the storage side of the EAS being low and the compressor is trying to raise the car and fill the tank at the same time.

And yes, you would need to select Access height to lower the car it won't do it automatically, although you can preselect 40 seconds before coming to a stop, in P or N, putting the Handbrake on and foot off the brake pedal.

When you move off, if it is in access mode without the inhibtor switch pressed, it will raise up to standard. With the switch pressed in, it will say 'EAS MANUAL' and will be in 'Crawl' mode at Access height, until over 10mph (I think) when it will raise to Motorway height.

The system will lower from High to Standard at speeds over 35mph and as you know from Standard to Motorway above 52mph(ish) for longer than 30 seconds, and raise from Motorway to Standard when below 35mph(?) for longer than 30 seconds.

Self leveling will perform when you switch off the ignition and get out then close the door, it will then self level every few hours unless you open and close the door/tailgate again, when it will self level on closing the door.

Height changing will not heppen with your foot on the brake pedal for less than 3 minutes, after three minutes it will self level only and not repond to height change commands, although mine does raise from Motorway to Standard with the foot on the brake when sitting at traffic lights for some reason!!

Sounds like you have a leaking airbag to me and/or the compressor is stuffed. There should be no significant change of height when you open a door as that freezes the suspension, when you close the door is will self level but that should produce very little movement unless you weigh 25 stone when it would have to drop the drivers side to compensate after you got out.

I weigh 23.5 stone....and the old girl self levels when I get in and again when I get out....:D:D

That's what I said, but not about you:p Don't ever think of putting on coils or it will have a permanent tilt:eek:

hahaha

no coils are not for me! I don't want to go back in time thanks!

dont think its the pump as i went up and down today and it's quick, also don't think it's got a leak as i have left it up for most of today in high and it stays up fine, unlike when i had a leak before when the front left was down and all others were up!

drove around today and pressed the button on the right with pic of a wheel which i presume is the inhibit? anyway i pressed that but it still moves when i stop or press a button! so nothing seems inhibited!
what does the motorway button do?

the ride has never exactly been soft though not like you used to get on the citroens in the old days, which suprised me seeing as it's air not fluid!

I'm leaving it in up all night and see what it's like tomorrow!

Cheers guys

With the inhibit button pressed, it will still raise and lower on your command using the rocker switch, and self level...it just won't move from that selected height...

i.e. Press inhibit and select Motorway....the vehicle won't move to standard automatically when below 35mph and will stay in Motorway until you command otherwise....it will still self level to maintain Motorway height though.

Richie you are a bloody star. It's people like you who should be mentioned in honours lists, not some of the idiots that get the gongs. All credit to you mate.

I can't cut a straight line with a nibbler/grinder or draw one with a pencil and ruler, and thats with two hands let alone do all that and get a near perfect straight line too with only my size 12's to do it with....

I say it again, you are the Don my friend....

just a shame I don't have a camera crew etc otherwise I'd love to make a proper programm and get a gong!!!

I know it's nothing to do with range rovers but just thought i'd show you all what i've been doing lately!

got a few burns, shame nobody makes welding gloves for feet!!

nibbler might be the next thing on my air tool list!!

I have to hand it to you mate, shows what can be done despite life giving you a bad deal.
They ought to use a video of you to show all the scroungers with fake back problems etc why they no longer qualify for disability benefit. I hope you are claiming, sure as hell you deserve it.
