Welcome to LZ catleydog. I'm not a million miles away in Radstock.

I'm a member of both Foxham and Minety.

Minety is ideal for beginners. It is basically all flat mud with the odd bomb hole that you can skirt around if you wish. The difficulty varies according to the weather. On a dry day you can get around no probs on road tyres. On a wet day it doesn't matter how good your tyres are, the chances are you are gonna get stuck. There is also a wooded area that is mainly underwater. If you have snorkel and breathers fitted you might wanna have a go. You can skirt this if you wish.

Foxham is a very hilly site with a flatish bit of low ground It's great if you have a 90. Anything bigger than that and you will struggle. All the bomb holes are 90 sized. If you try and put a disco or 110 in there you end up with all 4 wheels in the air and the vehicle resting on your bumper and crossmember. It is great for learning hill climbs, failed hill climbs and controlled desents. Again the problem is vehicle size. At the top of the hills are very deep ruts that 90's have made on full lock. My 110 wouldn't go around them without at least one wheel sticking in the air at all times.

It was trying to pull the discovery out that got me stuck in the first place.

hey ratty sorry i ment to say does any one go to foxham or mintey! but thanks for the discription i have been to mintey once but i am not sure if that is me in the pic as looks to have back windows i had a comercial!

when i went to mintey would of been july i think it was a lot worse than foxham! foxham is easy if you stay out of the water and have a set off muds on!
