Howdo all.

So before I start looking at dodgy HID headlight conversions, does anyone know of any white headlight bulbs, at a similar colour temperature to the white LED floods that most people have seen. I have six LED floods on the front of mine, but my two osram nightbreakers just look out of place as they are your standard halogen yellow.

Thoughts? Lamp is H4.

look at the colour temperature, the higher the value, the whiter the light, go much past 6500K and it turns blueish.
HIDs have varying temperatures as well, so its up to you, HIDs can be had from 3200K upwards, think the highest "daylight" ones are around 8000K

I know plenty about colour temp but having trouble finding something ideally 6.5k or as low as 5k. My osrams are 3.5k. Even if its a filtered type. On the other hand I would go for HID, but I have no experience of them and dont want to be blinding anyone at all, or getting pulled over for that matter.

You need to be careful with halogen bulbs as go to powerful/hot and you will damage the reflector. You can go HiD but you need to chane the complete light unit and not just the bulbs, the light is created in a different part of the bulb and so the reflector needs to be correct for it. It is not strictly legal to convert to HiDs now days but anyone questioning it would need to prove the conversion was done since the law change in 2010.

Piaa do white halogen bulbs, I have them in both cars and have had the h4's in the sierra for 5 years and 30,000 miles plus in other cars. Very good until you hit fog!

There's something wrong if halogen bulbs look yellow to you. Olde worlde tungsten maybe, but halogen?

Get this man a beer. :) :tea:

Consideration to fellow road users, i like it. Thats why i hate aftermarket HID kits fitted by people who dont know what there doing, they blind people and the users dont care. Its the "im ok jack, so bugger you attitude"

We need more people with this consideration.

Well its a bit like chalk and cheese. Play nice one the low beams, but as soon as its quiet, crank out the 210w of LED.
