I'm after fitting a winch to the deepender, any advise on which one, or what power or capacity is acceptable???
PTO and hydraulic is great if they are on the rig for looks. Out in the mud and water stuff breaks and engines stop running. Those PTO and hydrualic winches don't work real well when the engine quits because water or mud got into the intake. That 30 seconds of battery juice can pull the rig out so you can get it home and dried out.even if the lecky ones work proper, theyll drain your battery in minutes.
Good... while you are jacking off your rig, mine will already be on the trailer and on its way home. Most PTO winches have a facility to stick a handle in so can crank it round by hand Incas your injuin stops.
