I'm planning a LR, around 2011 ish. Not really bothered if Disco 4, RR or RRS but leaning towards RRS based on looks and prices.
Narrowed it down to 3.0 TDV6 or SDV6, preferably with the 8 speed box (I think) but that's stretching the budget.
I've heard bad things about LR reliability but it seems that a lot of it is wear and tear/running costs. What concerns me is the potential for expensive body off jobs, the frequent stories of crank issues and reportedly eating tyres and running gear.
I also spotted a 4.4 TDV8 option that claims similar mpg and road tax looks the same, although that seems to be a lottery depending on exact model.
Can anyone point me towards or away from any particular vehicle/model?
I've been driving a pick-up for many years and running costs on them are not exactly cheap.
I imagine any of the above LRs will be better off-road than a pick-up?
