Hello, new here, looking for some advice, please. My son bought a 3.9 V8 from an unspecified 1994-98 Discovery, planning to strip it down and rebuild with his mates (just for kicks). Finding it very difficult to pin down the correct drive belt. Spent an hour searching online to no avail. The suggested part seems way to long (measured it with string, about 1880mm) and the one that fits our pulley layout (in photo) appears to be for a different model. Engine has a number but appears to be stamped over some other numbers. Very confused. Any advice or pointers gratefully received. Thank you.[GALLERY=][GALLERY=][/GALLERY][/GALLERY]

The drive belt on my 3.9 is a 7PK 1870. When I searched the number it came back as fitting something else, but it fits
7PK 1870 is 1870mm long.
LRcat might help. Click on the relevant sections & you'll get to the part numbers, which can then be cross referenced to give belt dimensions.

FWIW the Disco 2 V8 serpentine without ACE or aircon comes up as 1775mm ERR6899 and the LRcat drawing for the pulley layout looks very like yours.
Cross refererence here. Enter other LR part numbers for the lengths of the other belts: www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/err6899

your engine number has been stamped over try reading the proper dotted number under neath.
