I need to change the diff seals on my 1999 110 TD5. The rear diff is a Salisbury, front is standard. Is there any way I can order what is likely to be the correct seals before I remove the seals? I wanted to get it turned around pretty quick and can't afford to buy the wrong ones

You can order the seals from suppliers like LR parts or JGS landrover but you will not know the condition of the seal land [ the bit it seals on ] on the drive flange until you take it out. The land needs to be smooth for the new seal to do its job, often there is a groove. You could just take it off for a check before ordering parts oe even order a flange anyway as they are not dear.

Thanks for that. I had not thought of the seal land condition. Luckily I have found a local garage that has the seals on the shelf and they are only two miles from where I am doing the rebuild
