Which air filter?

Going to change the air filter this weekend then thought about K&N and others on the market, does anyone have any recommendations for the TD4?

Stick with standard, far cheaper than those over rated and over priced K & N things.

so a nice shiney pancake filter wont make my series get 100mpg and make it look really cool then ?

a series doesn't need a filter to look cool!

K&N filters have a bad reputation regarding the oil used in them fouling up MAFs. K&N themselves have stated that there is no such problem & it's all caused by owners being over enthusiastic when re-oiling their filters after cleaning. Unfortunately, I've heard of several cases on various forums where owners have had the problems with pre-oiled filters straight from the factory & remember reading about one guy who went through a couple of mafs till he decided just to degrease the thing & not apply any oil at all which obviously affects filtration.
Interestingly, green cotton filters seem to have a much better reputation in this area but I'm not sure whether they do one for the Td4.
