The rear dash cam in my defender,
I was thinking of the top of the pass side rear small window. anyone placed theirs in a more suitable/effective position ??

If it's internal that's the only place really unless you want the faff of getting cables into the rear door.

@Flossie my thoughts as well.
d/s better for capturing overtakes ? I suppose it depends on the camera angle (you can fit various wedges) and its field of view

Surely it all depends on what you want to see/record? o_O
Only one I have ever found to be of more use that those things called wing mirrors is the one on the work's Ranger that shows the towball area and is useful when hitching up to a trailer.
:)

I'd go drivers side yes. You may find window misting a pain in cold wet weather though. My motorhome has an external bullet type which means drilling a 22mm hole in the body but that captures quite a wide angle when mounted central. I only have front dash cam on my 110 .
You can report tw@ts to the police with footage too, I've done it 3 times .
