You have to watch out for raiding parties from over the Tamar looking to supplement the gene pool but the difficult bit is trying to find somewhere without gorgeous scenery.

Yes, quite a few, depending on the body option on the 130.
There was a green lane guide to Devon in LRO magazine a few years back if you can access. Driven most, some are ok.
They are quite spread out, Devon is a big place, and most are quite short, just a mile or so.
Quite a bit of Devon action in the Devon and Cornwall thread.
I can message you some suggestions for starters if you get stuck, but OS and Trailwise will reveal, that is how we found them.
There is very little that is damaging to the underside, some are a bit tight for vegetation, specially in the summer!
Some are big surfaced access roads to farms or wind farms, you wouldn't damage a skateboard on them!

Exeter is the most expensive part of Devon for just about everything.
If you really need to stay there, try the Clocktower Hotel, that used to be good value.
Devon hotel Matford is OK too.
Lots of places to camp outside the city, they love fleecing the tourists round there! :D

alass its where my contract is.

Wouldnt live in a city, will be keeping my eyes peeled for a nice small cottage out in the sticks :)

Exeter is a very small city, would only be considered a town in many parts of the country.

Hope you have very deep pockets, property situation in the South West is crazy, silly prices to rent or buy. Especially in Exeter.

My daughter lives in Tiverton, prices are a bit more reasonable round there. About a 20 minute drive down the M5 into Exeter each day.

Yeah I'd seen Exeter was a bit expensive ( especially considering I'm now an honorary scot - tight as chuf)

I'll check out Tiverton cheers :)

Used to go there on holiday wgen I was about 5 haha!

Many locals consider Exeter and Plymouth as the same city, although they are a short distance apart. Exeter is the posh end, Plymouth the poor working class end with the dockyard.

Tiverton, Cullompton, Willand, roundabout there you may get a better deal.

Totally different world to Scotland, prices, mindset, population density, everything!

When are you planning to arrive in the SW?
