Hi guys Sorry to Start a new thread but . . .

I live on the Devon Cornwall border. I want to buy a Defender 90 - its a real need to have one. However after trawling through Auto trader and various other websites I have managed to work out what would be a fair price for one. But the big thing is that I do not know a great deal about cars. Now I am learning slowly but having had a pig of a car for almost 8 years now I dont want to set myself up for another 8 years of hell by buying a duffer. I will have to get it from a dealer because at least the law will protect me more if it is a duffer. But what I want to ask is anyone willing to stick their neck out and say - if you went to that dealer near Honiton for example - you would be wishing you had eaten one of your own testicles instead. I live near Bude but I am able to travel about 100 miles to find the right one. So is there any dealers around that you would recommend (landroverman????) or any that you would say avoid with a barge poll.

Cheers for your help - pm me if you dont want to air your views publicly.

Thanks for your advice guys - the defender will be picked up after its had its new MOT - service - fuel filter change - oil leak checked - HPI check - and taxed. Then its flapper wheel and painting next. Been reading the rust sections. Its got a rusty door bottom on the drivers side due to the door dropping slightly and previous owner using the slam it hard it still shuts method. The door bottom has been slammed into oblivion and is scattered in several places across the county. Other than that some rust blistering the back panels literally in a couple of places and thats pretty much it. Ovies on, drill out and
go for it. Getting excited. So thank you.

Rusty door bottoms usually due to galvanic corrosion not slaming them
