So, I have just bought a tax exempt 1972 Series 3.

I am 20, and cannot get classic insurance on it until I am 21 at the end of March. The vehicle is currently taxed. I intend to stand it on the driveway until I can insure it at the end of March.

Do I need to apply for a SORN once the logbook has come through in my name, or as soon as possible?

I don't want to get caught out by this new law that has just come in.

Thanks for any info.

depending on how long ago you sent the paper work off it may still be in limbo but do it on line tis simple enough.. just need the reg no to check it..

I checked online and it says that it's still insured.

The seller said that he would send the paperwork off this week.

I think you need a number off the V9 to sorn on line but do it as soon as you get the paperwork - might be worth a pre emptive phone call to DVLA to ask their advice.
