Wheels all the same??

Hi,
A pal is offering me a two 16" wheels (with tyres) from a Defender that he says should fit my series 2. They have the big centre hole, five studs and certainly look like mine but he is 50 miles away - a fair round trip if they don't fit.
Are they really all interchangeable - anything to watch out for?

They will fit if they are steel wheels alloys are a different matter

well they will all fit like he sed if they are normal landy steels, but when i got my wheel refurbed i toook in 6 of them and they tole me there were 4 differnt sizes ?!?!?!?, looked into it at the placed doing my tyres and the diffenances they sed were small and wont make a differance, and it hasnt... yet

Look on the outer face of the wheel and the part number and size will be stamped there, i have two early defender riveted wheels on my s2 and two later defender welded wheels as well, both 5.50x16x33 this is the std defender rim and the same size as the std lwb series rim, the swb normally has 5 inch wheels but all will fit each.

Im pretty certain he realises that
But in a nutshell they will fit which is what he asked.
As i said above std defender is 5.5x16
