hi i was wondering that if i put wheel spacers on will it put to much stress on the axles or am i being to silly i would like the wheels to stick out a bit and have bin told it increases the steering lock please advise thanks.......

If you've got normal wheels on then 30mm spacers still won't stick out from the body. I have 30mm spacers and standard-ish 16" wheels and tyres. With the spacers it looks a bit less spindly and is a lot kinder on the back over those horrible, pointless square speedbumps that break your back at 20mph in a Landy but I can shoot over at 40mph and not feel a thing in my Mazda...

People do say they put more stress on things but if you think about it, no more than larger offset wheels...

When you put them on make sure you _thoroughly_ clean up the surface of the drum. I had a spec of rust on mine and after tightening up it warped the drum badly enough to cause erratic judderey braking.

As to steering lock, it does a little but again with standard tyres not by much as the steering box/relay doesn't seem to have enough headroom to take advantage of the extra....or I'm missing an adjustment somewhere.

my wheel studs are nowhere near long enough for any kind of spacers.

If the tread sticks out from the bodywork at all then you need arches. No tread can be visible from the top (wheels straight ahead obv)
