Hey guys it's been a while since iv been on here, hope everyone has stayed safe and healthy!

Really random question, my 2a has either some fancy steels or painted alloys, and I plan to refurb them and have them painted or powder coated.

But with the current set up. The wheel nuts literally dig in and scratch the small area around the hole for the studs, if I remember to il take a picture tomorrow to better illustrate what I'm talking about,

Has anyone else had this issue? Am I missing something very obvious? Am I complaining about a 1st World problem? Probably lol
 
If the nuts have a taper were they touch the wheel they are steels and the paint coming of at that point is normal or else your wheels will not be tight and will fall offt
 
There are nuts with tapered washers available. May help protect the surrounding paintwork. Or just touch up around the nuts after they're put on.
 
Its a wheel on a 4x4 meant for off road. The only thing that matters is that the nut shape matches the wheel face shape. Its possible they don't if it has the wrong wheels.

Appreciate what your saying, and yes its a 4x4 meant for off-roading but doesn't mind I cant also take pride in its appearance either

As long as the taper on the wheel is the same as the taper on the nut, then you know the nut is seating correctly. The paint being removed by the nut gives a good indication of nut to wheel seat area. The paint will always be stripped off as the nut seats in the taper, and if it didn't, the nuts could work loose in time.
There's nothing wrong with the paint being removed, and plenty wrong if it isn't.
 
I understand what you're saying, I was a bit miffed when I put brand new wheels on my landy and the nuts scratched off a bit of paint when I tightened them. If your landy is showroom condition it's a pain but if it looks anything like mine the scratched wheels match the overall appearance.

Nah by no means show room, just enjoy having it look good as well as functioning good.

the main issue is the rust from the wheel nuts leaving what I can only describe as brown skid marks that trail down vertically from each nut after its rained
