Wheel arch spats

Sorry to appear so dim but I'm wondering why my 109 1980 series three has wheel arch spats, have these been added at point of overhaul approx 5 years ago or is it something to do with the Salisbury rear axle width?
How do I go about uploading some pics, I'm not all that computer literate so some simple advice would be most welcome.

Year they have been added at sumtime.

wot injun yu got? - yu mite have had the axles changed fur 90 or deepender or disco or rr or summat else - they wud be wider and need the spats. The spats are meant to be a bugger to fit tho.

Thanks for that, it's got the dreaded 4203 up front and I've just spent £50 on sound proofing kit. Checked it all out with Perkins and the lump started life in 1978 in a Commer Dodge walk through van. Sounds like a veg van to me
