ive started removing bits from me 90 tonight ready for prepping for painting.

ive noticed the rubber type seal you can see above the windscreen wiper has been painted over previously but is all flaking off.

do i just remove the paint as best i can and say cover with tiger seal and then paint over it.

or what is this seal and how easy is it to replace it..ta

Dead easy to change if you unbolt the roof/side pannels in one hit and lift the body up enough to fold the screen foward .
Just a case of pulling off the old seal are fitting a new one , might be a good idear coz when I changed my screen compleate i found the start of a rust hole that I promptly fixed before bolting it all back together .

Its just sealing tape/sponge - paddocks list them for series but not fenders ( id imagine there the same tho
( FAJ100020 Seal - bulkhead to windscreen )

I just restuck mine back down with a bead of sillycoont :)

mmm sounds like a bit of work to change a sponge seal..
might see if i can cut the most of it out, then fill and smooth with tiger seal and paint over.even if i put a new seal in i couldnt paint it..

ta for the info..

Do you have any obvious leaks from the screen, roof seals or body cappings? If not then I would leave well alone. Only if you have to take body parts off would I consider replacing a seal. I had most of my body off last year including the screen frame and when replacing the seals used Tiger Seal between them and the body.
I would hand paint that seal dabbing in with a small brush.
As my old chap says..... 'a man on a galloping horse wont notice':)
