What is this hole in the bulkhead for?

What is this hole in the bulkhead above the passenger side vent slot for?

On the old bulkhead it has a plastic blanking cap in it. When the windscreen is fitted, the bottom of the windscreen would cover it.

What is its purpose?

May be for left hand drive wipers ? I have seen a Defender with three wipers fitted .

Could it be a wiring hole for heated windscreen listed in optional equipment parts book.
There is one on the bulkhead I rebuilt which was and ex military but do not have any photos of my original screen top edge.
