Hi. The water pump has completely failed on my Range Rover, as in the bearing on the front has collapsed. :(

I'm having a hard time getting the viscous fan off, largely due to the whole assembly flopping about.

Can anyone please confirm what direction the nut is to remove the fan, is it normal or reverse? I've done a Google but it seems a pretty split decision on most threads.

Vehicle is a 4.6 Rover V8 "thor" block.

Anticlockwise on your car R/H thread. Clockwise on the diesel L/H thread. Viscous fans ALWAYS undo in the direction of normal rotation.
