Hi guys

Whilst working in the fooking rain removing my alternator i found the recon'd one i bought off ebay this week was rebuilt the opposite hand ok no probs just need to remove the 3 fixing nuts holding the two halves together then separate and rotate to the right position then fastern it all back up together but i didn't realise i had to remove the regulator off the back of the alternator and broke the two magnets that are part of the regulator that sit inside the alternator.

so to keep my landy on the road i had to remove the regulator off my old alternator and fit it to the new one :eek:

then after doing that i moved onto the fuel sender so removed the old sender inc seal and ring fitted the new one ( BM Parts ) inc new seal and ring and the fooking thing didn't work right so had a mess with the landy wiring tried the wires in different connections and i eventually got it to so although the landy wiring was right think the wiring on the sender was wrong but anyway it seems to be working right now.

but the good news is i bought two £5 scratch cards and won twenty quid on one :D

Some days just suck and it looks like yours was today!!!

Hope the rest of the day is better and the £10:00 you are up on the scratch-cards helps to smooth it out.:):)

+10-8 (regulator) = +£2 profit for the day , do you feel like you have done more than £2's worth of work today?

Yes defo but with the way the day went what with the weather aswell it just pizzes you off oh and I forgot to add my son ordered a straight through middle pipe to replace the silencer which never came either so hopefully im mite come tomorrow as I am off then so I can fit it :)

Do you want to sell the silencer , I have a straight through pipe on a soft top and it's doing my nut in

Sorry not sure yet son got the tdi exhaust today and had a problem fitting it but i haven't seen it yet as i was at work till 10pm so i am going round in the morning to have a look but yes probably would be looking to sell it but want to make sure this exhaust is right first :)

Went round yesterday morning and found the clamp round the down pipe to manifold was in the wrong position and exhaust was loose so i re positioned it and its nice and tight, it sounds better but needs the tail pipe sorting as the noise is right under the rear tub, we have found an exhaust place that will make us a solid but shaped tail pipe fit it aswell as make any brackets which will be a better job than using flexi pipe all we need to do is cut the hole in the rear wing so might get it done next week.

had it out just to try it with the new exhaust on and wow its quick and the turbo lag is virtually none existent :D
