Moving out to Spain soon to live and decided to replace Merc s class with my first Landy a 2004 lhd Disco II 4.0 ES. After 3 years it had only done 15k in km. Great surprise at how well put together it was and smashing to drive.

Now after 6 weeks the honeymoon is over! Needed to use the jack to lift a trailer (some git had nicked jockey wheel), all the oil poured out on first use. Decided to put the jack in the back and then the wee clip which holds the rear door arm in place decided to disappear! Now the door needs four blokes just to get shut properly.

Don't get me wrong even the merc was always up to something stupid and small that cost money but now i know the problem isnt the makers or dealers, its us! We are all mugs.

Guess its just another repair bill to hide from the missus!

Welcome chap. Most motors give you a 'baptism of fire', difference is with a Landy it's gauranteed. Just keep reminding yerself......at least you didn't buy a Gaylander! ;)

Spot on. Even the main stealers are all the same. When I went in to get a spring clip for back door they said they always go, then they told me they had run out (at 2 different stealers)! Must be because they dont make enough profit out of selling price of 27p (26p profit).
