Hi all I have a slight rust hole in my passenger foot well wat is the best way to weld it's in the corner so is a dodgy well I have a welder etc any advice is appreciated!
Cheers Tom

Cut out the rusty metal and dress off the surround with an angle grinder if possible. Make a cardboard template of the hole, mark out onto sheet metal then weld it into the hole.

bang on how its donew matey ill second that unless your doing a full resto rebuild then its bulkhead off and cut out the offending footwell and replace the entire thing or patch it with verry tidy butt welds and dress to match original metal :D:D:D:D

either of the above ways work, just take your time

a couple of magnets assist when "letting in" metal as they help to hold it flush, done carefully it can be an almost invisible repair

cut the rotten metal completely out (cut out more than the bare minimum) back to good solid metal before attempting to make your patch, clean off any surrounding crud/muck/surface rust to bright steel for best repairs, make sure your earth point is bright and a good contact

if you've not welded before i'd suggest paying someone else to do it and maybe learning a little from them rather than attempting mot level repairs yourself for a first attempt at welding

here's one i rebuilt earlier
